The final version of the 2nd approach at the texturing and lighting of the dock. I wanted a dark sci-fi atmosphere and I think I've succeded in achieving it... to some extent... even with my poor texture painting capabilities.
Finally done... yeah you could say that i'm happy now and I can bet you are mighty tired of watching the same scene over and over again... that's kinda lame on my side... anyway: on with the rest of the Project02!
Comments are as always welcome and full view is recomended to see all the details.
Thank you for watching
PS. Made in Maya, rendered with Mental Ray (~5 minutes/frame). Textures "painted" in Photoshop with help of the wonderful Total Textures 7: Sci-Fi set.
cool, dude, but i feel the yellow on the yellow/black bandings can be made a bit more dirtied and probably the corners worn off to reveal the metal underneath
Nice. Good job on the lighting. The atmosphere is good. It has sort of a sterile darkness to it, the kind of crisp, well maintained, yet ominsous look you'd expect in the most high tech of military environments. I'm particularly impressed by the modelling detail.
One thing, I find that the texture on the wall around the "G7" door looks funny where it meets the edges of the door panelling (i.e. where it meets the polys with the yellow and black "caution" texture on them). And maybe the red LEDs could use some specularity or something. Perhaps a small glow effect also? Other than that, the textures are great. I especially like the ones on the F2 Airlock doors.

What is this Total Textures set you speak of? Is it free to download? It'd be very useful for my project if it is.
